We were developing our first consumable Social Studies textbook program. At that time, HMH would send out new prototypes to studios. After seeing the ideas I had come up with, I was asked to develop the prototype in-house instead.
Throughout the program's design, a light green buff color was used as a visual cue to indicate where students would be interacting with the page by circling, underlining, or writing out their answers. I created new elements, like the TextWork box, but this program held onto brand familiarity using established design elements. I incorporated elements from our most recent National program, such as color palette, type styles, and graphics.
The program was very successful in the market, winning +90% of sales upon its debut.
